Willi Rudolph is a fine art photographer based in Berlin, specialised in staged and nude photography. Most of the time, his photography speaks for itself, so in order to leave it the necessary space, the identity had to be very simple, yet memorable.
We did not want to work with monograms or icons for the logo and picked the fonts very carefully. The font for the logo and also used for headings and titles on the website is "Modula OT", paired with the equally quirky, yet sophisticated font "Quatro".
Below you can see my first draft for what we imagined the website could look like.

We decided to use a CMS (content management system), as it is the simplest way to not only get a fully functional website, but it makes the process easier for the designer to realise the drafted design, without needing to have programming skills. Moreover, it makes the maintenance of the website even easier for the client - changing text, photos and design elements can be done within seconds without any programming or tedious work.
Of course the biggest con of this method is, that one cannot achieve the drafted design exactly as desired, as one has to work within the limitations of the templates. Luckily, there are many to choose from and they are easy to edit.
After having established the fonts, we decided not to use any colour for his identity and stick to a very light and very dark shade of grey, representing black and white photography, while not imposing too harsh of a contrast for the presented photos.
Below I have included screenshots from the finished website.

If you like what you have seen of his photography so far, you can buy a fine art print at: follow the white rabbit. He founded it with a photographer friend and there will be more artists to support in the future.
